Hungarian culinary excellence took center stage at SIAL Toronto 2025, North America’s largest food industry trade show. Hungary proudly participated at the EU pavilion, represented by the Consulate General of Hungary in Toronto and HEPA Regional Office Canada.

The booth showcased Hungary’s most celebrated specialties, known as Hungarikums, drawing international attention:

  • Tokaji wines – including Patricius Furmint Dry, Katinka, and 5 & 6 puttonyos aszú wines

  • Szeged paprika – renowned for its rich flavor and vibrant color

  • Panyolai pálinka – traditional fruit spirit

  • Pick salami – a symbol of Hungarian culinary heritage

Visitors, industry professionals, and media representatives praised the exceptional quality and unique character of these products. Canadian-British chef and TV personality Imrun Texeira highlighted the outstanding pairing of Tokaji wines with blue cheese, further showcasing Hungary’s gastronomic tradition.

HCCC celebrates this achievement as part of its mission to connect Hungarian businesses in Canada and share knowledge within the community. Events like SIAL Toronto help strengthen Hungary’s presence in international markets while inspiring members to explore global opportunities.
